We will be returning to Buckinghamshire Railway Centre over the weekend of June 3rd & 4th 2017, in conjunction with the Miniature Steam Traction Engine Rally, a brilliant fit with Steampunk! Following on from our September weekend at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre, Quainton, near Aylesbury, which featured traders and live entertainment amongst the railway exhibits and artefacts, including LIVE steam engines and unlimited rides, we’re going to be back with even more to please enthusiasts of steam power!
The Visitor Centre is actually a bit special, being the last remaining fragment of the original Crystal Palace, left over when it was erected in Hyde Park in 1851 and used as a railway station in Oxford before coming to the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre. There’s a huge GWR locomotive “Defiant” in there along with some vintage carriages, what a brilliant backdrop for steampunk traders and performers!
As well as day time fun frolics and live music we will stage a Steampunk Cabaret Show on the Saturday night in the Visitor Centrel, tickets £10. In September 2016 this included The Retro Clones, Greg Chapman, Kiss LIke Ether, Scarlet Butterfly, Moth, and a subsidised bar by Professor T Bottom with real ales and ciders and meads and naughty things like Toffee Vodka.
